The loot!

These kids are so spoiled! They get three Easter Baskets! And they love them all!

Checking out his Cars stuff. The underwear is wishful thinking of Grandma :)

Grandma takes care of little Milo too :)

All my Boys

My friend Mary (who grew up next door to me) invited us over for a little Egg Hunt. This was the first year River got the concept of finding the eggs. It was a lot of fun to watch :)

One happy kid!

Grab the eggs and run!!

The Hunt begins!

And there off!

Riv's bud Caleb (Mary's cute son) just discovered there was candy in the eggs!

Their mouths were so full they started drooling! LOL!

Milo was more interested in the eggs.

Gma and Gpa Foscarini sent the boys Baskets' in the mail

So cute!

Alpine Assessment

I have debated how exactly to write this post.
I completely do this blog for my children and hope that someday it will be a great reminder to them of how much they are loved and a great place to keep their memories. Having said that, I know that someday they will read this, and that has been of concern for me on this post.
I never want River to see this post in a negative light because it isn't negative.

Most of you know that River has been receiving Early Intervention services from Kids on the Move.
This has been such a wonderful thing for him and I. It has helped him immensely with Speech, Social/emotional, finding his talents and his weaknesses.
At the age of 3 River can no longer receive the services at Kids on the Move. So at this point of transition they set up an appointment with the Alpine School district for an assessment or evaluation of River's skills, to see if he qualified for their services. We got his evaluation done a few days ago.

Honestly it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know or suspect.
The evaluation was both questionnaire {for me to fill out} and physical assessment of River.
He was assessed by a teacher, speech pathologist, and a psychologist.
He obviously has a severe speech delay. He also scored low in social and emotional. He had a completely divided score on Comprehension, is one category of comp. he was above average {he is fantastic at puzzles!} and in another he was in the 1%tile.  He was above average in Motor Skills {He loves hitting, kicking, and throwing balls!}

They let me know that his scores were very similar to the scores of children with Autism.
{I already knew this}
They asked me if I wanted to take a questionnaire specifically for Autism. I said that was fine.
They came back with the results that he ranked in the top category of "very likely autistic".
This isn't a diagnosis. But, nonetheless not something I haven't already contemplated.
River qualified for services through Alpine School district.
He will be attending a preschool for children with special needs and be receiving speech therapy.

I asked the opinion of those administering the test if they thought I should look into getting him diagnosed. They felt where he is still so young and doesn't need a diagnosis to receive their services that it would be best that I wait until Kindergarten if we are still concerned at that point.
So obviously we are hoping that he will continue to progress with therapy!
This kid is the coolest kid out there and we will do whatever it takes to help him, whatever those needs may be!
River you are different from some kids your age, but I want you to know now that different is WONDERFUL, everyone out there is trying to be different, guess what you already are!
{In the best ways!}
You couldn't be funnier, sweeter, or more mischievous!
We are more then blessed to be your parents and love you more then you will or can ever know!
Love ya bubba!!

River has been obsessed with the song "we are young" and I LOVE listening to him sing to it.
The dance moves aren't to bad either :)
{i cry laughing watching this!}

Too much Fun!

We recently had a FUN filled day! The morning started off with the boys and I going to the Bean Museum with my ward for a reptile demonstration.
We learned all about different reptiles. I don't think Milo liked the crocodile very much!

River got a little anxious and decided to stay hidden in the stroller while he watched.

Milo did like the tortoise though :)

I think River liked it, but was a little anxious.

The girl giving the presentation brought a few of the reptiles around for the kids to look at during the presentation, then at the end they could go touch a snake! River had no interest in touching the snake and got really nervous when the presenter came around with the reptiles, but he was safe in his stroller so there wasn't a meltdown :)

After the presentation we went upstairs to look around. There were a lot of people there, so it made it kind of hard to go where you wanted to. River loved the Elephant and when I tried to take him to look at other things he got a little overwhelmed. We lasted about an hour including the presentation, so overall I think it went well. I think I will go back when it isn't so crowded.

When they were done with the Bean Museum we went and met up with Tony and headed up to City Creek.

Sadly this is the only pic I got, but it was beautiful!!
We ate lunch at the Blue Lemon and then just wandered.
It was pretty cold and windy, but the shops are so beautiful we were okay spending the majority of our time in them to stay out of the wind. ;)

So after a eventful day full of Fun! This is how we felt!

Exhausted.

River's Ramblings

This cutie loves going to the Park and just being outside!
{love his smile}

When we go to the park, Riv is go go go, the whole time!

"Watching" Conference with Mommy and Milo.

This spot seems to be River's new hangout

I swear Riv is going to be a spy someday! He is so funny.

Or a Model :)

Sometimes I just can't get him to look at the camera! He just looks around me, like he can't be bothered.

My little man is always so cute! Swoon!

River singing to MoTab

A Minute with Milo

This Tiny little guy can sure put the food away! Tony is convinced he has a tape worm that eats all his food, because he is still so tiny ;)
Milo is a really happy baby and LOVES to laugh {and has the best laugh I might add} except for when he's not...

We have been seeing this all too sad face lately. He is teething again, this time one of his front teeth are coming in. One night Milo woke up from sleeping just screaming bloody murder. We tried everything and nothing seem to helped we soon realized it was his tooth coming in.
 I remembered when River was teething we would turn on "Elmo's Song" on youtube and it would totally take his mind of the tooth. I thought we would give it a try and after nearly pulling our hair out not being able to calm him AT ALL, you would not believe it!! Elmo Song came on and complete silence! I mean from a blood curdling scream to silence! It was amazing!! I highly recommend trying it. I was amazed and will remember that for future teething!

Bath time in the sink

Milo usually takes a bath with River, but this day we decided to do a sink bath for a change.

I liked the lack of production to do a sink bath, but Milo was way to wiggly. Maybe getting a little to big for sink baths.

With some of these beautiful Spring days we have been having we have been hitting up the parks regularly. Milo is starting to enjoy the sings.

Wherever I take Milo little girls seem to follow him! This day at the Park was no different, we made a friend {Emma}, she just kept saying how cute Milo was. :)

I LOVE Conference time! It never disappoints and always helps me get back in line :)
I was so glad that the boys kept entertained during the Saturday Session so I could watch it all.

He is still a little speed demon! He also took his first step on Conference Sunday. It was small and he hasn't repeated it since, but we were so proud! {video of it below}

He is just too handsome!

 He finally has some hair for me to play with :)

I can't keep shoes on this kid! They lasted long enough for the pic and then it was all over.

First Step!
