Family Photos 2010

River loves his books!

Here are some pics of River playing and reading with his daddy :) I also made Riv a little pillow to go in his crib. I know it is pretty girlie, but it is what it is. I am also super proud of myself because everyday this week I have made dinner, a real dinner too! It has been a lot of fun and I have tried some yummy recepies that I want to start posting. Unfortunatley I forgot to get pics of what I have made thus far, but I will try to remember.

River is loving books lately. He will go grab one and hand it to you like "ok...read to me" it is really cute. His favorite book is a glitter book about a farm, he loves it! I'm glad that he is liking books, but he is really not showing much interest in talking. Now that he is 1 shouldn't he being saying a few words? I try to coax him into saying words, but he usually just screams and points at me?? haha! I don't know what that means?! As always I love my little guy so much and can't believe how big he is getting.


I have to say I have been disgusted with some of the things I have heard in the news involving innocent children lately. I don't know how else to describe it other then it literally hurts my spirit! I pray everyday that Riv will find his way through this world safely. How do such horrible things happen to the sweetest and most innocent among us?? I wish all children in this world could be protected from all the evil that surrounds us. Sorry to bring up such a downer topic, but I have just had some strong feelings about these horrible things lately and needed to get them off my chest. Thanks for listening to a mother's fear/disgust.

12 month update

Just a quick update on River's 12 month Stats

Length: 29 3/4 " (50%)

Weight: 20 lbs. 12 oz. (10%)

Head Circ: 47.1cm (75%)

Riv is such a on the go baby! He RARELY takes any naps. I don't know how he does it. He has started to take a morning nap, but only sometimes unfortunatley. His hair is changing colors into almost a strawberry blonde with brown, it's kind of a weird color. So are his eyes, they are brown in the center with a blue rim! I don't know where he is getting all these weird colors haha!

Mother's Day

I have a very sweet husband who wanted to do something special and original for me for this Mother's day....We went sailing on Utah lake! It was something that we have both talked about wanting to do and he made it happen :) It was the perfect day for it too. A guide took us out on his sail boat and taught us a few things about sailing. It was a lot of fun! We both want a sail boat at some point in our future. It is such a beautiful view when you are out on the lake, I can see how it becomes very addicting. We went sailing on Saturday, and then on Mothers day he made a delicious chicken recipe I have been wanting to try, it was delicious!! Thanks so much Tony for being so sweet :)
I also received some beautiful roses and a card from my Dad and Mom. My Mom was sweet enough to give me a card and teddy bear "from" River :) It was a wonderful Mother's day!

I'm so thankful to my wonderful Mother and I hope and Pray that I will be able to be as good of a Mother to River as she was to me. I have LOVED being a Mother! It is the best thing I have ever done in my life. It is a HUGE responsibility, in the fact that what he learns is all on me! There are so many things I want for River and I know ultimately as a Mother that is my job to provide/educate him how to achieve those things. I have been really feeling that pressure lately for some reason and just hope that I can live up to the high standard I have set in my mind.

I had so much fun decorating!! :)

Well, we are here, River is ONE!!! We had a little cake and ice cream party with family to celebrate the cutest little boy. We were so lucky to have the Foscarini's out for the party, thanks so much for coming!! My parents and Trev were guest too. River, like always, was super spoiled. We had a yummy chocolate cake and lots of presents! Riv was very excited about the many trucks, cars, mickey mouse, quiet books, beach towel, clothes, ....that he received. It was so much fun to have you all over! Thanks for coming and for the wonderful gifts!!

Disneyland!

We decided to make a trip out to the happiest place on earth for Tony and River's Birthday. I heard a lot of people say that it was totally ridiculous to take a one year old to Disney, but I just thought it would be fun. Tony and I had not been in years (In fact I had to talk Tony into going too) and I figured even though Riv won't remember it Tony and I always will, so we decided to take our chances and go. Well, I hate to toot my own horn (ok, maybe I don't mind), but it was the best trip ever!! It was so much fun, I was worried because it was supposed to rain while we were there, but we totally lucked out and had the BEST weather. We were blessed enough to have a hotel just a block away that we walked to with no trouble. River loved it, and he could go on just about everything! Tony loved it so much he didn't even want to leave :) We spent three days in the park, and that was about the perfect amount of time. We would start right as the park opened and then around 2 or 3 head back to the hotel for some pool time, then head back to the park until about 6 or 7. We were lucky enough to get to spend sometime with our friends that live just blocks away from Disney, we went to dinner with them a few times and it was so good to see them. We even got lucky with hardly any waiting in line. It was so much FUN!! We all loved it! Happy Birthday Tony (28) and River (1) Love you Both!
