School Carnival

Rivers school had a Carnival to raise money for the school.

It was a lot of fun!

I don't think River really understood a lot of the games, but he still had a good time.

He loved the train and the bouncy slide though!
He got to ride the train before it broke down :)

Milo was better at some of the games then River.
River didn't seem to get the concept of the games, but Milo did and wanted to play :)

Milo was kind of a cheater ;)

Back to School 2012

I would like to lie and say that River was thrilled about getting his back to school pic taken...

But this is what he really looked like! haha!
He kept saying "no school", which is so weird because he LOVED school last year (for the month he went)

I dropped him off and I know he doesn't look thrilled be he actually got a lot more excited once we were there.

Back to the leash! haha! They all really actually like that little leash!
River is attending Geneva Preschool with Miss Shannon as his teacher again. He picked up one more day this year too (which I was happy about) so he will be going M W F afternoon sessions. He will be receiving speech therapy at school for 20 mins a day.
He has been making huge strides with speech too!
After the first day Miss Shannon told me how impressed she was with how much progress he has made since last year, both socially and language!! Yay!!
Riv just started attending a private speech therapist once a week for 30 mins as well.
After the first session his private speech therapist (Paige Crawley) told me she felt like they could make a lot of progress because he was doing well with imitating her sounds :)

I feel like this year is going to be a great year for Riv and that he is going to really make huge strides :)
Keep it up Riv!! I love you!! I'm one proud Mama!!

Today I actually got him to say "Mom can I have a cookie please?" I had to pronounce each would individually and ask him to say each word individually, but still! He did it and each word sounded pretty darn good!! Woot Woot! :)

Milo and I enjoying some together time while Riv is at school :)

Preschool Grad

I can not even tell you how much River LOVED Preschool this year! He only attended the last month, but the little he was able to go didn't matter. He loved going and making friends. I would always drop him off at the curb with his teacher and friends. He never had a problem with me leaving! I think he wishes he rode the bus though. He is jealous that all his friends get to ride it and he doesn't. Maybe next year I will have him ride it. I do like the idea of having more control on when I drop him off and pick him up though. I don't like having to wait on other people.

Dropping him off with his friends and teacher :)

Graduation Day!!
River got all dressed up for the special occasion!

Tony couldn't make it because of work, but luckily Grandma was able to make it!

They walk the kids to their class room on this leash! It was so funny! All the kids including River loved it.

Just waiting for the program to begin. This was the longest I had seen River just sit still :)

He kept patting the rug because he wanted me to sit by him :)

Signing "friends" with his Speech Therapists

River's Teacher Ms. Shannon

I was so proud of him! He is really working hard and making progress. I am so proud of my boy!

All the graduates got an ice cream bar. He loved it!

Milo got a little tired during the ceremony! Haha!

Uncle Trev gave River a "Copi" for graduating :)

I would say it was a hit! He fell asleep with it!
Thanks Uncle Trev!

First Day of Preschool!!

I can't believe my boy is growing up so fast. He just had his first day at preschool! Since he qualified for services through the district he was able to start school on his 3rd birthday :)

Getting ready to impress ;)
There are only 9 kids in his class so it can't be too hard right?!
Especially when you show up with cupcakes and party bags to share for your Birthday ;)

His back pack courtesy of Grandma!
I didn't know where I was going to get one at the end of the school year, so luckily my mom had this lying around the house.
River Loves it!

He was really excited! I have been really trying to explain to him all about preschool and get him ready. He was ready and was excited to be going to his first day!!

He attends Geneva Elementary and his teacher is Miss Shannon (Broadbent).
He will be attending Wed. and Fri. afternoon classes. (12:40-3:30)
She will be working on individual goals (social/emotion and comprehension) with him. He will be seeing a speech therapist 20 mins each class as well.

This was when I dropped him off. He did so well and just said "bye!".  I tried not to be that stalker mom and take a picture, but I couldn't help it. At least I pulled away so they didn't know I was doing it...or does that make it worse...oh well ;)

When I went to pick him up he didn't even want to get in the car! He wanted to ride the bus with the other kids. He will be riding the bus next year, but I figured where there is only a few weeks left in the school year I would just take him this year.

We also had a special visitor! Grandma Foscarini came in town to celebrate Tony and River's Birthday!

The boys really loved getting to spend some time with her.
