Big Boy Hair Cut

This little, no wait, Big boy got a hair cut (doesn't he look so much older with short hair?!). I know this probably doesn't seem like a big event for most children River's age, but trust me it is! River gets extremely freaked out about getting his hair cut, and not just like normal children. I'm talking screaming, crying, shaking, acting as if he is going to die! He literally acts like it is physically painful for him, it is weird. He acts this way about brushing his teeth everyday too. It is literally a battle everyday, I have to sit on top of him to hold him down so I can actually brush his teeth. It is pretty exhausting! haha! I have talked to his care provider from KOTM, Linda, and we are pretty sure that it isn't so much a sensory issue as a control issue for him. I'm not 100% sure though. Maybe it is a little of both.

Anyway, you can see from the last post that his hair had gotten a little out of control! It took switching between two people to hold him in place while I quickly grabbed what hair I could and cut. Luckily he has curly hair so you can't tell what a hack job it really is. He is like a moving target! I was very grateful to have help this time around, his first haircut I had to sit on top of him and just cut as fast as possible.

You can tell he was crying from his red eyes and cheeks. But he is happy the haircut is over. So was I!

Milo is also all over the place now that he is crawling and trying to stand on everything. He is already getting a few bruises from banging his head on stuff :(

We were lucky enough to be invited to this guys 2nd Birthday Party too! Happy Birthday Brooks! I think it was riv's first Birthday Party. He did pretty well. He was a little confused that he didn't get to take the gifts home, but he had fun. Thanks for the fun time and invite Katelynn!

A bunch of Firsts!

We have been having some fun movie nights lately!

This little guy is officially Mobile!! He is a crawler, but wants to be a walker and tries to stand up on the side of the couch and coffee table.

Riv just started "transition" class at kotm. It is supposed help him for transition to preschool and also to help get over his separation anxiety. He attends the class for 90 mins. once a week, all by himself!

Milo has been a bit of a grouch lately, but for good reason...he just cut his first tooth!! It is his bottom right tooth. So he pretty much crawled and got his first tooth on the same day! Almost exactly on his 7 month b day. Way to go Miley and I hope your sore gums get feeling better :(

Time to lower the crib...he tries standing up on anything he can grab. I feel like he is a little young to already be doing this, but he is a determined little guy.

First Bowl & Almost Crawling

Riv & Mi both had their first bowl! I was worried Riv would be bored and get distracted with something else...

...But he LOVED bowling! He ended up bowling all of our frames too :)

The only thing that distracted him from all the fun was when he tried to run down the lane. Of course it was so waxed up that he ate it BIG time and slammed his head on the floor. Tony and I felt so bad for him, he was having so much fun then got hurt. We got him to recover pretty quick and he was back to playing.

Milo got in on the action too! He bowled on frame :) and looked good doing it.

Milo is SO close to crawling!! I think his problem is he doesn't want to crawl, he wants to walk. So, instead of crawling when he is on his knees and hands he tries to stand up with his feet. He gets incredibly frustrated when he can't get up! Hopefully he will give up walking for now and crawl.

Somewhere in the middle of all this fun Riv got sick. He woke up one morning and threw up and was a limb noodle the rest of the day. So we all decided to spend the day in bed relaxing. I even got a nap!! It was wonderful!! Of course not feeling well Riv didn't eat much that day.

But he never eats much anyway, so his appetite basically went down to zero and we haven't been able to regain his appetite since! I was already worried about how little he ate, but now he is living off of a little oatmeal, milk and goldfish crackers all DAY! I think he is starting to lose weight and he looks very pale to me. I have made an appointment with his Ped. and will update what I find out. Other then not eating he is full of energy and funny as ever, we just really need to get this eating situation figured out quickly. Has anyone else had this kind of problem with their kiddos? I would really love some advice! I have tried almost everything to get him to eat and it never works. Help!

Finally...Christmas & New Years!

Santa was kind enough to make a special delivery for River...He delivered this adorable trike from his Grandma and Grandpa Foscarini, All the way from Georgia!

We all had a Merry Christmas! We attended my parents ward for Christmas day Meeting. It was great to be able to go to church and remember what this time of year is really all about.

For the New Year we went to the Country Club for dinner and played games and watched a movie.

Doesn't Milo look like he is in some posh hotel hot tub! haha!

Riv has been busy trying to watch every single movie he got for Christmas!

We have all been playing games, doing puzzels...

Christmas Eve 2011

As is tradition in my Family, on Christmas Eve, we open all our Family gifts. Then on Christmas Day we open "Santa" gifts.

Milo really enjoyed Christmas! He loved unwrapping his gifts and playing with the paper and bows.

It has also always been tradition that we get Christmas Jammies, and they are always the first presents opened.

Milo's 6 month stats

This cute little guy is 6 months old and I can't believe it! How does it go so fast?! Milo is very sweet and loves to laugh. He wants human food really bad, but when I try to feed him baby food he isnt too into it. His acid reflux is pretty well under control now. He loves to "talk" and sits up great. He is starting to army crawl on his tummy. He still doesnt have much hair, but we are hoping it will come in soon.

Milo's Stats are:

He continues to be our small little guy. Tony is the only one that can get Milo to sleep. He is my magic charm when it comes to bedtime. We sure do love this little guy!

Christmas Card 2011

I'm really sorry that this is the way most of you will be getting our Christmas Card this year. I'm an idiot and ordered way to few cards! Usually I have way to many, I don't know what I was thinking. I barely had enough to send to family, again I'm an idiot! I feel like I still have baby brain, so again I'm sorry and will do better next year. I have loved getting your holiday cards! Thank you for sending them and please keep me on your list. Ho Ho Ho...

My Mom remembered that she had bought this outfit for Milo. She found it the other day so we had to put it on him. He was so cute! It was only a 3 month size, but Milo is pretty small so it fit him almost perfect. The hat was the only thing that was too small, which is weird because his head is supposedly super small?! Anyway, I thought he looked adorable as Santa :)

The other day River went missing at my Mom's house. I was looking all around for him, then heard him laughing...this is where I found him. It actually kind of grosses me out that he goes in the dog kennel and lies in his bed...yuck...but he loves it and I can't convince him to get out of it!

River "helping" Grandma rake leaves. Riv LOVES working in the yard. He loves working with all the tools. He really does try to help too.

It was particularly cold this day, so I used my scarf to try to warm Milo up.

He looked pretty silly, but it kept him from freezing. It made me think of the pioneers and how they must have tried to keep their babies warm, but then I had to stop thinking about it because it made me feel sick to my stomach from empathy. Man we are so blessed!

Charlie Brown Christmas

We have visited Santa already this year. We go to the Gatehouse Santa. He is so sweet and there is never a line :) Milo, as you can see, was the only one that made it to Santa's lap. River was curled up on the floor in his "time out" position, refusing to go anywhere near Santa. He has never liked Santa, so I figured that was how it would be. Doesn't Milo look cute though :) Milo asked for some more milk for Christmas ;) Milo has actually been really interested in food lately. If Tony or I are eating around him he will lung for the food!! I have tried to give him baby food a couple times, but he is never interested in baby food. He wants the real thing or nothing. Hopefully that means I will finally have a good eater (fingers crossed).

I really wasn't feeling like putting up our big tree this year, so instead we have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. We even have Linus' blue blanket wrapped around the base. Tate gave us this sweet book and stuffed Charlie Brown last year for Christmas. We have already read it to the boys and plan on reading it many more times this year, it really is so sweet.

I made this cute little nativity scene at a Super Saturday event in my ward. I thought it turned out pretty cute and hope it will be something my kids will like.

Thanksgiving 2011

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving as always. I made sweet potato crunch, pecan pie, and green bean casserole this year. Sweet potato crunch is a family recipe and a family favorite. The pecan pie and green bean casserole were recipes I found on the pioneer woman blog. They were both really good, but I learned that I don't like pecan pie. Way to sugary for me, but everyone else seemed to really like it. We watched the Macy's parade in the morning with the kiddos. River really enjoyed the parade this year. He loved the Buzz Lightyear Balloon of course! We then headed over to my parents house for Thanksgiving lunch. It was delicious as always. We then played some card games as a family and had Tate's roommate, Alex, as a guest.

Then some of us went to see the Muppet Movie. It was pretty cute. Overall it was a great day. I feel like I have so much to be thankful for!

I'm thankful for:

I have never known hunger

There is an endless list of things I am thankful for, I could go on and on. I just hope that I will always remember to be charitable with all that I have.

Baby it's cold outside

Now that it has cooled down quite a bit we have been spending a lot more time in doors.

Milo is sitting up so well now. It has made it easier for him and River to interact a little bit more, which is so fun to watch!

I think it is crazy how much Milo looks like River did when he was a baby, but one thing they definitely don't have in common is their eye color! Riv is DARK Brown, and Milo is Baby BLUE!

They love to play on each others beds. This was right after bath time, just hanging out in their diapers playing with toys. Love them!

River was on a mission, as he almost always is, to get all of Milo's toys stuffed into a plastic container. Milo just loves "playing" with his brother.

Loving Pioneer Woman

I am always behind the times, so I'm sure you all already know about "The Pioneer Woman", I Love her site! She has a blog that is all about cooking yummy, down home, goodness. I tested out this recipe for Sunday dinner and it was a hit! I had both my brothers over for Sunday dinner because my parents were invited somewhere for dinner that week, so I was in charge. Everyone loved it! It is a pork roast with apples and onions, slow cooked to perfection. The best part was reducing the drippings into an amazing "gravy" to go over the pork, SO GOOD! It was super easy so you should definitely try this one out.

Remembering Lulu

A month ago today sweet Lucy left this life to finish her mission on the other side. In her short 15 months on earth she touched many lives including mine. She was beautiful, sweet, feisty, and full of smiles. Her life was full of surgeries and hospital stays, but even through it all she smiled. Lucy has left many behind that miss her very much! Her parents loved her and did all possible to keep her happy, loved, and did everything medically possible to help her. They were truly loving servants to Lucy and their two other children.

When something so precious is taken, what seems to be too early, it brings up so many questions. Questions that seem will never be fully answered. We all know the "right" answers, answers I truly believe...Her earthly mission was complete, She was needed on the other side, Everything is in Heavenly Father's time and hands, Lulu is in a better place, etc. Knowing these answers to be true does provide comfort, but doesn't take away the feelings of such lose. I loved this sweet girl and miss her. I can't even begin to imagine what my dear friends Eliza and Chuck (her parents) feel on a daily basis. Lucy's brother and twin sister will remember her through photos and videos. They both should know how many special gifts Lucy had and will continue to share with them from the other side.

Lucy, Thank you for showing me how to love deeper, fight harder, and SMILE through the hard times. You have taught me that we all have missions to complete in this life and have given me more motivation to trust more fully in God's plan for all of us. You did so much in such a small amount of time! You are and always have been a sweet angel. Love you!

Chuck, Eliza, Jack and Hazel, Thank you for teaching me how to truly serve the ones we love. Thank you for your example of strength. I know you don't feel strong, but you are! You are doing one of the hardest things in this life...and doing it well. That you are doing it at all makes you strong! You have shown comfort to me in your time of need. That is strength! I hope you all know so many love you, including me. Lucy was able to be amazing because she had amazing parents! Love you all!

This boy was quite busy with his costume changes! I guess that is what happens when you follow a older brother that has always been two things for Halloween!

Well I just wanted to post this so I could remember how cute he was in all of his costumes!

Poor Milo had been really suffering the last 2 weeks. He would just cry uncontrollably at times during the day and then at night. It was awful not knowing what he needed, I could tell he was in a lot of pain. I was also really getting sleep deprived! He even got a hoarse voice...it was really pathetic and sad :( I finally took him to the Dr. to see if he was sick, but the Dr. said he wasn't and that I should just give him some tylenol. Well, that didn't help. Finally, the night I was supposed to take the kids to our ward Halloween Party, Milo started screaming again. This time I was at my Mom's house and she said how he was behaving reminded her of how my sister Chelan reacted when she would get acid reflux. I looked up acid reflux online and found that he had all the symptoms including the hoarse voice. (I was kind of annoyed that my Dr. didn't pick up on that.) My Mom didn't want Riv to miss the ward party so she offered to stay with Milo and try to soothe him while I took Riv to the Party, which I really appreciated! As soon as I got back from the party I took Milo to an Urgent Care and got a prescription for some antacid. It totally has changed our lives! I have my sweet, smiley, Milo back! I am so grateful that he doesn't have to suffer anymore. His voice is still hoarse, but I'm hoping that will go away soon. Have any of you had this with your kids? It's awful, right?!

Halloween Part 2

Finally the big day arrived...Halloween! Of course as is tradition we had to go visit Grandpa and Daddy at the store. The store is always apart of the Downtown Provo Trick or Treat event.

It was such a beautiful night we stayed on the porch to hand out candy. River just kept handing candy to my Mom to open! He had a sugar rush, but then crashed right around bed time...perfect! Halloween was a great time this year! Hope you all had a great time as well.

Halloween Part 1

Our first Halloween stop was to the Orem Water Conservation. We go to their Pumpkin Parade Contest every year. I feel like it has gotten better every year too! We went with my Mom and Chelan. River had a lot of fun showing off his costume for the first time. Milo wasn't quite sure what to think!

River was the cutest Peter Pan ever! I even got him to keep his hat on for the majority of the time!

River also loved his accessories which included a sword, and buried treasure. He actually used his sword a couple of times, like when a women tried to stamp his hand, he just pointed his sword at her to ward her off! (I got stamped instead.)

Milo was Elmo. I'm glad too because his costume was nice and warm.

I have to say that both my boys got quite the oh's and ah's, but Milo officially stole the show! All the kids thought he was the REAL Elmo and kept coming up to him and screaming "Elmo!" in sheer delight. It was pretty cute! All the parents including me just had to have a good laugh. I think the kids would have asked for his autograph if they knew what that was!

Hair cut!

This kid finally got his first real hair cut! I figured it was about time since he is almost 2 1/2! Luckily he has curly hair so it looked cute. I would have cut it sooner but he FREAKS out whenever I have tried. He was still freaking out when I did it this time, but I just did it as quick as I could. It is pretty jacked up, but it's as good as I could do with him moving around as much as he was. There were a lot of tears and a lot of screaming and shaking in fear. He especially hates when he sees or feels the hair coming off. It was sad, he was seriously shaking because he was so freaked out! He looks so much older now, it makes me kind of sad. He still looks cute though and trust me he will not be having another hair cut in a long time. I can only go through that so many times! It was literally grab and cut...like I said it is pretty jacked up, but what are you going to do?!

Cornbelly Fun

Tony took a rare day off so we decided to take advantage of it and took the kids to Cornbelly's. We went right when it opened which was great because the crowds were small and it was still warm. Riv loved all the cute wood toys they had to climb on. We took him through his first haunted ally, probably not the best idea! Especially because he is scared of everything this year!! He wouldn't even walk next to Tony after the haunted ally, I think he felt like their trust had been broken :) Milo was asleep for most of it, but woke up at the end. He started to get a little cold so Tony put him in his shirt to warm him up. River also enjoyed the "duck racing". It was a fun October activity and we always love getting to do fun activities like this with the kids.

Milo is 4 months old!

Guess who is not so big?! That's right Mi little Milo. He just went for his 4 month check up, which by the way he did great at! River was the one screaming and crying, he is really protective of Milo and is scared of Dr.'s so he did not like Milo getting looked at and poked. He was FREAKING out, but Milo was calm and only cried a little after his shots. (Go figure!) Well we discovered that Milo really is just a little guy!

Milo's 4 Month Stats:

Head Circum: 39.9 cm (4%)

The Dr. didn't seem to concerned with his stats, but did comment how small his head was. He said he wasn't worried about it though. It's funny because I don't think his head looks so small?! But obviously he is just going to be a little guy.

Milo is a wonderful baby. He eats well, and sleeps well too. He loves to laugh and smile. He adores his older brother and watching everything he does. He has the prettiest blue eyes and the cutest dimples you have ever seen! Love you little mi man!

Rough and Tough River

River LOVES big trucks and things that move. My parents neighbors are having some construction done and Riv loves watching the guys working on the big earth movers. One of the little bobcats was left unattended by my parents house for awhile and River took full advantage! He loved every minute and I'm sure if I wasn't there he would have started the thing up and been off to work!

Fire Fighters

It was that time of year again...time for the Fire Station Open House! We had fun as we always do. River was still afraid of the fire and the smoke, but overall had fun looking at the big trucks and eating popcorn :) River would scream and runaway from the fire, on one of the demonstrations he literally knocked me over trying to get away! Poor guy :( He loved the Fire engines and watching the life flight helicopter land. It was funny because the tires on the engines were as big as River! My mom and sister came with us too. It's that time of year again! Fall has come and all the fun activities are beginning! We decided to start the Fall Fun off with a visit to Pumpkinland like we do every year. We were lucky enough to have Gma Foscarini here and be able to go with us this year. It was fun as always and the weather was perfect!! We went through the corn maze and picked out a little pumpkin for Riv and Mi. I think Rivs favorite thing was the HUGE pumpkins they had displayed, and Milo just wanted to sleep! haha!

I make Riv healthy lunches and he will barely touch them!? He is such a picky eater and has an easy gag reflex. It is really frustrating. Help!

Something old and Something New (to us anyway!)

Well our something old is our daily routine. Hanging out with two handsome boys isn't to bad ;) They are as sweet as always of course! Milo is growing so fast! Riv and him still love each other and I think Riv is happy to have Milo around most of the time. I love it when River just randomly goes up to Milo and gives him a hug and a kiss :) They enjoy watching movies together...Monsters vs. Aliens Halloween is the current favorite.

Our something new (for us anyway) is a car! I have been hauling the kiddos around in Tony's truck ever since I totaled my old Lexus (which was quite awhile ago) and poor Tony was driving around in my parents van from the 90's! haha! Thanks to my parents for letting us borrow it!! Well it took sometime to find what we wanted and to get the finances together, but it finally all came together. (Thanks to my parents, Tony's parents and my Uncle and Aunt) Tony has been working hard so we would have enough to buy something. I original wanted a van for the 3rd row, but they were out our price range and we just couldn't seem to find the right thing. As soon as I gave my Uncle some different options to look for we found it right away. My Uncle owns a dealership and was able to get us an incredible deal!! Tony is more in love with our new car then with me ;) It has been so nice to have enough room for the kids to be more comfortable and to have room for groceries and a stroller!

River loves the new car too! He was always obsessed with his Uncle Trevor's car and is excited to have a nice one of his own :)

This boy has the BEST smiles and the bluest eyes!! I love this adorable boy, especially those killer dimples ;)

Milo is now rolling! Both from tummy to back and back to tummy. I set him down on the floor on his back and came back in to find him on his tummy. He does it all the time now, so cute!

Milo unlike Riv loves taking naps! He seriously takes 2 to 3 a day!! That is CRAZY for me to get used to. Riv never ever napped. Milo will start crying and I can't figure out why until I realize he wants to take a nap. It is hard for me to pick up on the cues since I'm not used to it. Poor Milo has to work with his dumb Mommy, but I'm figuring it our now :)

Milo loves to smile and coo, he really is such a happy child. He loves to be upright and standing on his legs (assisted of course) and sucking his thumb is still a favorite past time. He still has a crazy hairline that I'm hoping is going to figure itself out soon.

Isn't he handsome?! I love looking at pictures of this beautiful child, even if I am his Mom.

I wanted to update on how Riv is doing with KOTM (Kids on the Move). He is still doing his "learning box" we do it 2 times a day and he seems to still really enjoy it. I feel like the learning box has been his break through in many ways. I'm not sure why, but it has been a really great thing for him. He is now signing more and more like:

I'm really proud of him and his amazing progress!! Still not talking but more babbling that is starting to sound more like words. I was holding Milo and told him to say Hi and wave and he waved and made the "H" sound. That may sound like we have a long way to go (maybe we do), but we have also come along way, so that is what counts!

He is now attending a sensory class at KOTM every week and I feel like it is helping, especially with interacting with other children. It is helping me better understand why Riv does certain things and also things I can do to help him more. We are going to try to help him be more okay with being touched, because he hates it now. So, I will update later on progress with that as well.

River's new Talent

River has a new found talent...Make up artist!! I'm not sure his Dad will be to happy about this, but I'm thrilled ;) someone who knows how to make me pretty...priceless!! He loves watching me put my make up on especially mascara and the eyelash curler. Well I guess he decided he had done enough watching and was ready to put his education to practice. I found him just like this :) He was very proud of himself, as you can see Milo was a little concerned about his brothers new talent. Lol!

New Friends

Milo has a new friend, his name is Ty! Ty is one of my best friends son who arrived about a month after Milo. My friend, Cheyenne, and I have been friends since we were 2 so we were both excited to find out we were expecting so close together. We are sure they will be besties too :) They met for the first time the other day so we got some pics to show them when they are older. Their friendship is starting a little earlier then mine and Cheyenne's, they are only 2 and 3 months old!

River also found a new friend at Costco...a GIANT Micky Mouse!! He didn't get to bring this one home because really that is just way to big of a stuffed animal to have in our condo! He loved it though! So, I have a question for you guys...What are you getting your kids for Christmas? I am wanting to get something more educational for Riv, but something he would still want to play with...any ideas?

Day @ The Hogle Zoo

We decided at the last minute to go to the Hogle Zoo. It was the perfect day to go, the weather just started to cool down so it wasn't so hot. Since it was kind of last minute we didn't even get to the Zoo until 3. It was so nice, we basically had the Zoo to ourselves since we went later in the day. River has never really been that into animals, but I thought since he was older he might pay more attention to them...nope! haha! He couldn't care less. Oh well at least he was well behaved. It was fun just to walk around and go on the train. Riv did like the train part :) The Zoo has a Lion water fountain that has been there since I was a kid so I wanted to recreate a pic of me drinking out of the fountain as a child with River, but he was scared of it. So I got a pic of him pointing at it :) It was a good day at the Zoo!

I was lucky enough to get a quick visit with my friend and her daughter who were at Primary Children's Hospital after the Zoo. It was so good to see them, Lucy looked great and was all smiles. She has a heart condition and still has a long road ahead of her, but she is a champ and is quite the fighter :) Love you guys!

My parents were visiting Park City like they do each year for their anniversary. They were gone for about 5 days, so instead of visiting grandma we did a lot of playing around the house.

Both Boys LOVE being naked, so that's how we hung out for awhile each morning :) Playing on the bed is always one of Riv's favorite things to do! Milo just likes watching River, so it works out :)

Milo's eyes are still this beautiful Blue. I hope they stay that color, but I don't remember when River's eyes changed color, so they still could change. River's eyes are Super Brown, but the edges are a really dark blue if you look close, it's pretty cool!

Well, because I have wonderful parents, they invited us to come and spend the last few days with them in their condo @ Park City! River was THRILLED to say the least. He REALLY missed going to see grandma at her house. I past the street you turn onto to get to my parents a couple time (not even their house, just the street) and River would just LOSE it. At first I couldn't figure out why he was screaming, but then I saw that he was pointing to their street (that we were passing) and screaming and then started to cry when we didn't turn :( Sad! So when he saw Grandma and Grandpa in Park City he was nothing but smiles! He ran around the condo giggling. It was pretty cute! I think my parents liked being missed as well ;) The condo was great, Tony and I had our own little loft area to stay. Riv slept on the couch in the loft. I took this pic of him at about 3 in the morning, when I woke up to feed Mi. I looked over to see how Riv was doing and he was just dangling off the side! I stared laughing and grabbed my camera, it looks like his feet are touching the floor, but they weren't! Just dangling off the edge! haha! Poor guy...so I helped him to get a little more comfortable.

River Loves water so we decided to take him to the hot tub because it was too cold for the pool, but when we got there he wanted to go in the pool even though it was cold. So Tony and Riv went back and forth from the pool to the hot tube in the rain :)

It was so nice to just be able to relax for a few days in a beautiful place. Thanks so much Mom & Dad for letting us come join you in Beautiful Park City!!

I can not even tell you how proud I am of this little gummy bear! We have been working with Kids on the Move and have started a "learning box" basically it is a box full of puzzles, matching games, bead threading, etc. to help him focus and just be able to follow commands, especially matching items to help with language. It is his "work" time and we pull the box out 2 times a day to "work". He has done AMAZING!! He LOVES his learning box and sits still, focuses, and obeys commands the whole time!! (These are all big hurdles for him) When we are done with his learning box he gets a reward of getting to watch a little lady bug that winds up and spins. He loves his reward! I have been working with him for awhile with sign language and it hasn't been successful. He hates it when I sign and it actually usually makes him really mad if I do it. (It's kind of weird, I guess it is a control thing for him) Anyway, I decided to really focus on the sign for "more". So if he wanted to see his lady bug dance "more" I would do the sign and say "more", Well something finally clicked I guess because he does the sign now when he wants his lady bug to go again!!! I'm so thrilled!! I know it sounds like a small thing, but I feel like this was a huge hurdle we just jumped together! Linda (his kotm instructor) watched me do it with him today and she was amazed. SO PROUD!!! Love you Riv!! We will just keep working towards great things for you!! You can do it :) You are so smart sweetie and your Momma couldn't be more happy for you!! xoxo

I just have to say how blessed I feel everyday to be a Mother. I LOVE being a Mom and feel it is the best thing I have ever done with my life. I adore my boys and they make my life so much fuller.

There are so many that I know that are struggling with sick children or the loss of children. It has really made me grateful for your examples of strength, love, and your Faith in our Heavenly Father. It makes me so grateful for my children and reminds me to hold them a little longer and squeeze them a little tighter. Much love to those struggling right now, you are all in my prayers!!

Loving books

River has been working with Kids on the Move for the last couple months to help with his lack of speech. He his one strong willed child and has figured out the 'learning tasks" I am given to work with him and will refuse to do any of them! They are simple things like pointing to pics in his books and saying what they are and then asking him to point to certain pics or making sounds into his mic and a few sign language signs. These are all tasks we have done before, but as soon as he figures out I am trying to get him to talk he closes his eyes and puts his hand up and screams and looks away. Even though he can do it and was just doing it a few seconds ago! His new thing is when I'm saying sounds or words to him, he will "shoosh" me or put his hand over my mouth so I can't talk any more! What a punk! Haha! Well as stubborn as he is he has been starting to make a lot more noises lately, so I guess just one step at a time. I told the woman who comes to help River all this and she says we just need to adjust how we are trying to teach him. So hopefully more positive updates to come :)

I guess we are kind of a charity case when it comes to our tv, because we have only had hand me downs. (Which I am way grateful for because I really wouldn't put the money into a tv right now.) We first started off with a small tv I had in my room since High School, VCR player and all! It was pretty bad, but then a flat screen at the store that they used to play dvd's broke (just the dvd player) so we were lucky enough to get that. It was small and Tony had to sit close to see but it worked and we were grateful. Well Trev is getting a new tv and very kindly offered to give us his old one, which is a way nice tv! What a great Bro I have! Thanks Trev!

Well Tony got our new tv all hooked up and put Winnie the Pooh on for Riv. He said Riv just started to laugh uncontrollably when he saw how BIG Pooh had become on our new screen :) Needless to say Riv has very much enjoyed the new tv.

I have been feeling more then ever, how precious this time in my life is. I can never get these sweet moments with my babies back and I know how fast it is flying by! It almost makes me sad, but I know I can't be sad because then I would miss it. I have to enjoy every moment RIGHT NOW! Sometimes being a Mommy is hard and overwhelming. It can seem at times mundane and unimportant, but I have really started to learn that being the Mommy is the best thing I have ever done in my life! Challenging...yes...but OH so rewarding!! Pioneer Day in the Canyon

This year for Pioneer Day we got the Family together and went up the Canyon for a picnic and croquet. It was hot and a little humid, but it was fun! Trevor brought a date along, her name is Katelyn and her son Brooks. Isn't Brooks a beautiful Boy!! So cute.

Brooks brought a bunch of toys to play with, River loved playing with them, luckily Brooks was pretty good about sharing.

Tony had his eyeball scratched really bad by River that morning so he just laid low with Milo while we played croquet and ate KFC and Malawai's Pizza.

So I have to tell you this quick story. When we are out playing in water River always tries to make friends with the other kids, but doesn't quite know how to. He will just walk up to a group and smile and act like they are all friends, but then when the kids run off he thinks they are playing and follows them with a big smile until he realizes they are actually just ditching him! haha! I know it isn't funny it's kind of sad :( I laugh but really do feel kind of bad for him! Poor guy. It is usually older kids he is drawn to so you can't blame them for wanting to ditch him. It doesn't help his cause that he can't talk either, so he is just the mute kid with a big smile :) I try to help him out sometimes by trying to get him to say hi to them, but no success thus far. Hopefully he will be able to make friends soon.

Here are some of the adorable shots that my friend Che was nice enough to take for us! I think Milo was about a week or 2 old in these. I love my sweet Mi Man! He is a sweetie pie and has started to smile a little. It melts my heart when he smiles, he has the cutest dimples :) Che does good work and took pics of me when I was preggo too. Having two kids hasn't been as hard of an adjustment as I thought it might. I know that it will probably get more difficult as Milo get older, but as for now we are doing pretty good. I am getting used to the lack of sleep now so things are running pretty smooth at this point!

Now my focus is getting this baby weight off. I have started to do some work out dvd's so hopefully that helps. I still have a long way to go. It took me a whole year to lose my weight with Riv and I really really don't want it to take that long this time. It is hard for me when I'm nursing because I have such an appetite, I think that is why it took me so long to lose it with Riv, I nursed him for 13 months. I plan to do the same with Milo, so hopefully things will be different this time....please be different!! I hate being overweight and how it makes me feel...yuck! When you were nursing was it easier or harder for you to take off the weight? I have heard both, unfortunately I think I fall in the harder category. What did you do to get the weight off??

The 4th & other things...

I love the 4th of July! I love remembering how blessed we are to be citizens of the most amazing country in the world, our Freedom, all the people who support that Freedom, and of course the colors RED, WHITE & BLUE! River and Milo were decked out for the special occasion. We went to the Stadium of Fire on the 2nd, which is tradition for my family. It was fun, but hard with a 2 year old this year.

We relaxed in my parents hammock and played out door games too.

On the actual 4th Tony and I went out to eat with the kids then took them to Cars 2 with their uncles. Milo looked cute in his little 4th getup!

We discovered this year that Riv is TERRIFIED of fireworks!! Like running for cover and shaking! I felt really bad for him and don't know where the fear came from. Grandpa stayed inside with him while the fireworks were going off to comfort him.

I found Riv trying to get into Milo's car seat. It had fallen over and he was stuck! Like a bad Mommy I laughed at him and took pictures :)

So I am never in any pics, mostly because I'm taking them, and partly cause I don't want to be :) But I figured my boys need to know they had a mother when they were little so I asked my Mom to snap a quick shot.

Milo 2 Week Stats

First off I really need to Thank all the wonderful Friends and Family that have been so wonderful to us since Milo's birth. We received meals every night for a week! Thank you so much for that...I don't cook so we really enjoyed the meals and leftovers. Yummy! Milo has received countless cards and gifts from so many people that love him. Thank you so much for thinking about us and for showing so much support and Love. I have felt so incredibly blessed having Milo join our family and this out pouring of love has reminded me how blessed I am to have such wonderful friends and family too. Judi I put a pic on here of Milo with your cute cookie bouquet! It was adorable, thank you so much for sending it :) Brenda the bears you sent were adorable and River already thinks they are both his :) Learning to share is something we still need to master. Milo always needs to be holding something while he sleeps and it has been hard because he always wants to hold me, but I put your teddy bear in his arms and he loved it! Thanks for making them such a sweet gift!

Milo had his 2 week appointment (he was really only 11 days old) and circumcision. Let me just tell you, if you can do the circ. in the hospital, do! We did with Riv and it was no big deal. We tried to with Milo but they said they don't do it in the hospital anymore...it was so horrible to watch! All I have to say is that is so messed up! I was covering Milo's eyes the whole time and holding his hand, it was awful, but he did pretty darn good considering.

Looks like we are sticking with tall and skinny boys! I was so impressed with how much weight he had gained so fast! What a champ :)

Wet & Wild

Wet and Wild pretty much describes River in his new pool! Grandma bought him a kiddie pool the other day and River loves it! Yesterday was probably one of the only days that has been warm enough to even use it. He thought it was the best thing! He kept trying to splash grandma and I and laughed when we would scream after getting wet :) What a cutie! Hopefully we will get more warm days so he can enjoy more days in his pool.

Feeling Blessed

How could I not feel so blessed with these two sweeties around! Man my heart is so full of gratitude that I get to be the Mommy of these two wonderful, adorable boys! These boys have made my life more fulfilled then I ever thought possible. I just hope I can be the kind of Mommy they both deserve, I have a lot of learning to do still! All I know now is I love them both more then words can express and will try my best to teach them the important things in life.

Riv is still a little hesitant about touching Milo, but he did try to snuggle him :)

Riv tried to share his toy! So cute!!

What a drunk monkey! lol!

It was super sweet to see River trying to share his toys with Milo! He was a little confused why Milo wouldn't hold them, he kept trying to put them in his hand! I am so proud of Riv and how great he has been with Milo. No jealousy yet, except maybe a little if Daddy is holding Milo.

Milo is so great! He eats, sleeps and rarely cries. That is during the day, the nights are weird. He cries a lot and eats a lot, very little sleep at night. I can't quiet figure out whats going on? Any of you had kids behave that way? Great during the day, not so great at night.
